The temperature is cold, very cold and part of the field, the part where Juventus are attacking in the first half is totally frozen but the bianconeri want tow in the last match of 2009.
On the 1st minute, Diego immediately tries a ball at goal but the keeper saves. Two minutes later, there is a corner for Juve: ball into the area but the keeper manages to save. On the 5th minute there is a good low ball by Caceres into the area but the defence anticipates the Juve strikers.
It is the 6th minute when Caceres makes a good clearance from what could have been a dangerous ball. One minute later, there is a free-kick for Juve: Diego's shot goes straight into the arms of the keeper.
The 8th minute sees a good ball by Caceres into the area being cleared by the defence and then a Grosso shot is put out for touch. Two minutes later, an An Amauri left-footed shot goes wide.
On the 12th minute there is a corner for Juve: Diego puts the ball into the area but the keeper manages to save. One minute later, Legrottaglie manages to steal a goal-destined ball from Morimoto who had just entered the area.
It is the 18th minute when Diego passes to Tiago in the area who shoots but the keeper is well positioned and saves. Three minutes later, a Caceres cross goes straight into the arms of the keeper.
The 22nd minute sees the referee awarding a penalty to Catania following a foul by Tiago (yellow card) who pulled the shirt f an opponent in the area. Martinez puts the ball into the net but it must be repeated. Martinez scores even from the second attempt. 0-1.
On the 25th minute, Grosso puts the ball into the area, Amauri jumps and is fouled but the referee signals to play on. One minute later there is a free-kick for Juve: Diego shoots the ball into the wall. From the rebound the ball reaches Trezeguet who puts the ball inces wide with the flag up for an inexistent off-side.
The 29th minute sees a great ball into the area by Marchisio and Alvarez just manages to anticipate Amauri. Three minutes later, Salihamidzic comes on for Melo.
It is the 40th minute when there is a free-kick for Catania: ball straight into Manninger's hands. Two minutes later, Diego receives a ball in the area, turns and shoots but the ball hits a defender.
The last bit of action of the first half comes on the 45th minute when there is a free-kick for Catania: ball into the area and Martinez heads wide.
The second half is s imply a siege by Juventus on the Catania area and a clear demonstration of the fact that in reality it is not Ferrara or the players who are not doing their utmost but luck which has abandoned the bianconeri.
On the 3rd minute, there is a free-kick for Juve: ball into the area but the defence manages to clear in some manner. Four minutes later, a Diego shot goes slightly high over the bar, but the action was a beautiful piece of team work.
It is the 8th minute when a Llama shot goes well high over the bar. Two minutes later, Grosso enters the area and shoots but Silvestre manages to block. On the 13th minute, a beautiful turn and shot by Amauri goes slightly wide.
The 15th minute sees a Morimoto shot go slightly wide. Two minutes later, there is a great pass by Trezeguet to Amauri in the area, but the shot by the Brazilian is saved miraculously by the keeper.
On the 18th minute, Salihamidzic enters the area, shoots and the ball goes out skimming the far post. The Bosnian was fouled on shooting. Two minutes later, there is a long ball by Diego into the area, Brazzo collects and deposits at the back of the net for the equalizer: 1-1.
The 21st minute sees Giovinco come on for Tiago and 4 minutes later Del Piero comes on for Amauri. Seconds later, Del Piero puts a ball for Trezeguet in the area, the Frenchman is about to head hime but the keeper exits and the two bump heads violently. Both players fall to the ground and are medicated for about 5 minutes before the match can continue.
It is the half-hour of the second half when Trezeguet sees a shot saved by the keeper right from under him. Juve are playing really well and certainly deserve to win this match. On the 36th minute there is a free-kick for Juve: Diego puts the ball into the area but Legrottaglie's header goes high over the bar.
Corner for Juve on the 40th minute : Diego puts the ball into the area, the defence clears a first time. From the re-bound Legrottaglie's header is blocked. On the counter-attack, the defence is caught off-guard and Izco beats Manninger for an unlucky 1-2.
On the 43rd minute, Giovinco with a beautiful move enters the area and passes but the defence clears. Three minutes later, there is a corner for Juve: Del Piero puts the ball into the area but it is cleared. Giovinco then puts the ball back in but it is too long for anyone to strike.
The 48th minute sees a free-kick for Juve: Del Piero's shot is deviated, Diego collects, shoots and the keeper performs a miracle to save.
The final whistle comes after 6 minutes of stoppage time with Juve setting camp in the Catania area but to no avail. Luck has left the bianconeri completely and let us hope that the new year brings a better dose of luck for Ferrara and his courageous men.
