Champions League: Rubin Kazan 1-1 Inter

KAZAN - Dejan Stankovic headed in an equalising goal to cancel out Alejandro Dominguez' opener as the Nerazzurri earned a 1-1 draw against Rubin Kazan in their second match of Champions League Group F.

With Milito and Muntari declared unfit to face the Russian champions, Mourinho paired Eto'o in attack with Mancini and handed Mario Balotelli his second successive start. But the young Italian striker's match lasted an hour with referee Hauge producing a second yellow card that meant red.

Inter were on the back foot after eleven minutes. Dominguez started his run midway inside our half and with a devastating burst of pace took the ball Lucio and Samuel before firing past Julio Cesar and into the roof of the net.

Dominguez continued to be the number one threat and he came close to a quick second, forcing Julio Cesar into a tipped save with his inswinging free kick from the left.

Stankovic popped up with the all-important equaliser three minutes short of the half hour, heading past Ryzhikov after getting on the end of Maicon's right-wing cross.

Seconds before the Serbian's goal, Mancini wriggled free of an opponent and tested Ryzhikov from an acute angle. And minutes after, Balotelli almost put us in front but his goal-bound strike from distance was denied by the crossbar.

Rubin, though, were no pushovers and the Russian champions produced more chances before the break. Lucio made a crucial interception to deny Bukharov, who later wasted a chance from Karadeniz' cross. Inter's Brazilian central defender carved out a decent chance in time added on but flashed his low shot wide of the target.

Dominguez and co. started the second half as they ended the first and Julio Cesar was forced into a smothering save from Ansaldi's long-range kick, before watching Semak slice his shot wide after an inviting pass from Bukharov.

Inter suffered a blow when Balotelli was red-carded for a second bookable offence, forcing Mourinho's men to play the remaining thirty minutes against a fast team with plenty of reference points in attack.

But the Nerazzurri withstood a barrage of attacks and Julio Cesar made vital blocks from Dominguez and his countryman Ansaldi as Inter brought home a draw that could easily have been a defeat when Semak received from Cesar Navas, only to crash his shot on to the post.

Juve draw on the first…Luck not on the side of the bianconeri

Juventus and Bordeaux are both determined to start-off on the right footing on the debut match of this season’s Champions League. The initial minutes see the French team showing a certain aggressiveness both when it comes to fouls and actions.

On the 3rd minute Buffon saves on a dangerous Bordeaux initiative. The referee stops play for a foul in attack. One minute later Bordeaux are still on the attack but the shot is easily saved by Buffon.

The 6th minute sees a hard challenge on Iaquinta just outside the area but the referee signals to play on. Two minutes later there is a free-kick for Bordeaux but the ball sails straight into the hands of Buffon. On the 9th minute a Marchisio shots sails high over the bar. Seconds later, Bordeaux seem to be pressing on the accelerator in these initial stages of the match.

It is the 10th minute when Felipe Melo frees the Juve area from a dangerous ball. Juve are trying to create some action on the right flank first with Giovinco and then with Caceres. On the 13th minute Felipe Melo is fouled in midfield after winning a good ball. One minute later there is a good cross into the Bordeaux area deviated into corner by the defence. From the flag the ball reaches Tiago who shoots high.

On the 16th minute a Bordeaux shot from outside the area goes wide. Two minutes later Giovinco is fouled in midfield after winning a great ball. On the 20th minute Tremoulinas tries across into the Juve area but Buffon cradles the ball and seconds later a Iaquinta shot goes high.

The 22nd minute sees a good exchange with the ball reaching Iaquinta with the keeper forced to save. Three minutes later there is a free-kick for Juventus: Iaquinta takes it but the ball hits Amauri and is easily held by the keeper. Five minutes later it is Buffon who punches away following a French free-kick. On the 31st minute a good Giovinco shot is held by the keeper.

On the 33rd minute there is a corner for Bordeaux: ball reaches Diarra who shoots wide. Two minutes later, a good Caceres cross into the area sees Amauri heading but the keeper saves. There is another corner on the 37th minute: Giovinco puts the ball into the area. The ball seems about to cross the line but is cleared by Fernando.

The 44th minute sees a corner for the French side: ball headed wide by Gorcuff. The first half ends after one minute of stoppage time on 0-0.

The second half turns out to be a very exciting part of the match with Juve dominating for most of the 49 minutes. On the 2nd minute, Legrottaglie clears a dangerous ball in the area. One minute later there is a Bordeaux free-kick: Buffon first and Caceres after clear a dangerous ball.

On the 3rd minute, A Juve counter-attack sees Iaquinta losing the ball before entering the area. One minute later Buffon saves incredibly on a Gourcuff shot and a few seconds after, Bordeaux corner sees Iaquinta heading again for a flag kick. The 6th minute sees Iaquinta going past the keeper after receiving from Tiago and shoots wide from a difficult angle. A good opportunity for Juve.

The 7th minute there is a corner for Juve after a good Grosso run: Giovinco puts the ball into the area with Grosso heading wide. Two minutes later, Grosso clears on a dangerous Plasil initiative. On the 11th minute Bordeaux are forced to change the keeper: Rame on for Carrasso.

On the 12th minute, there is a corner for Juve: Giovinco puts a low ball into the area which is cleared by the defence. Juve are showing much more initiative in this part of the match, acting very much on the flanks. One minute later, a Giovinco shot is too weak to worry the keeper. On the 14th minute there is a free-kick for Juve after a foul on Tiago: Grosso dishes out a great shot forcing the keeper to a great save. From the corner Amauri does not manage to head a good Giovinco cross.

It is the 17th minute when a powerful Marchisio shot is deviated by Iaquinta who is off-side. Two minutes later, Iaquinta receives from Cannavaro, runs entering the area and shoots straight into the net: 1-0. On the 21st minute Zebina comes on for Cannavaro. Caceres moves to the centre of the defence.

On the 22nd minute, Buffon performs a miracle on a dangerous shot. Two minutes later, Melo forces the keeper to save into corner after a fiery shot. Seconds later, Marchisio passes to Zebina whose shot is deviated into corner: Rame removes it from Amauri's head. On the 25th minute there is a corner for Juve: ball into the area but the defence clears. Seconds later, Zebina makes a good save on a dangerous counter-attack.

On the 26th minute, an Amauri shot is deviated by the defence. One minute later, there is a corner for Juve: Giovinco puts the ball into the area, Amauri heads perfectly but the keeper performs a volleyball save for a corner. The 28th minutes sees Giovinco coming off to be replaced by Camoranesi.

Juventus are struck on their best moment: on the 29th minute, Bordeaux benefit of a free-kick: ball reaches Plasil who deposits into the net from a dubious position. 1-1. Four minutes later, Caceres loses a dangerous ball forcing Buffon to save . On the 35th minute an excellent Tiago is forced to leave the field due to injury. Poulsen comes on.

On the 36th minute there is a free-kick for Juve following a foul on Amauri: ball hits the wall. Another free-kick for Juventus on the 39th minute: ball into the area cleared by the defence. One minute later, Buffon is forced to leave the area to save on Gouffran and seconds later Gourcuff from a dangerous position inside the area puts the ball high.

The 41st minute sees a good shot by Poulsen goes inches high following a cross by Zebina. Two minutes later, a Marchisio shot after a Caceres cross hits the under side of the bar. From the rebound, Poulsen shoots high.

The 43rd minute sees a free-kick for Bordeaux: Poulsen who has had a good impact on the match clears well. Two minutes later, there is a free-kick for Juve after a foul outside the area on Zebina: the Grosso shot is headed away.

The match ends in a 1-1 draw but Juventus definitely deserved more. However, considering the fact that Bordeaux are the French champions and that Juve were missing a number of important players the result can be considered satisfactory.

The legendary penalty box poacher earned Milan a hard-fought victory against a committed and tough-tackling Marseille side.

Talk about a baptism of fire. Milan coach Leonardo walked into his first Champions League game as coach to be confronted by heavy rain, a hostile and partisan crowd and one of the most improved sides on the continent.

And Marseille began the game in just the sort of highly energetic, ultra physical fashion that their coach Didier Deschamps would have asked for.

For the first ten minutes, Milan didn't get to put their foot on the ball and weren't allowed to settle as the French side did a passable impersonation of a Premier League team, all muscular drives from midfield, shoot-on-sight attitude and penalty area pinball.

Then the somewhat artless Milan began to show some class. Pirlo, Ambrosini and Seedorf began to slow things down in the middle of the park, passing backwards in order to go forward.

Just before the half hour mark, the Rossoneri finally got their reward. The increasingly impressive Seedorf skipped past a couple of challenges and sent a loopy, inch-perfect pass to the unmarked Inzaghi at the back post and the veteran goal-poacher beat the 'keeper from a couple of yards out.

Milan looked to have doused the Marseille fire, although Storari did have to make his first meaningful save just a minute before half time.

It was a bit of a shock when Deschamps side came out in the second half like a team who had swallowed a lake full of isotonic drink. It must have felt like deja vu for Milan and they were immediately on the back foot just as they had been in the first period.

This time, however, the home side would get their reward.

After a sloppy foul from the still naive Pato, Cheyrou swung in a free-kick and Gabriel Heinze rose highest to fire a header between Storari's legs for the equalizer.

The next 20 minutes are all about Milan weathering a storm as the home side throw everything they've got at them. It's not subtle and it's not pretty but Marseille are simply not that kind of side.

In the end, though, all the huffing and the puffing and the thumped crosses into the box amount to not very much at all as on 72 minutes Seedorf again lifted a neat ball into the box and Inzaghi jabbed the ball home with the outside of his foot to score his 68th European goal.

A baptism of fire for Leonardo then, but he will be delighted that it was his teams' class that made the difference and snatched all three points. That, and the instinct and guile of one of the greatest goalscorers of all time.

MILAN - German referee Wolfgang Stark has been appointed to take charge of Wednesday evening's UEFA Champions League Matchday clash between Inter and Barcelona at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Stark has refereed Inter on four previous occasions: Manchester United 2-0 Inter (11 March 2009), Valencia 0-0 Inter (22 April 2003), Ajax 2-2 Inter (22 February 2006) and Inter 1-5 Arsenal (25 November 2003).

Ferrara: Pertandingan Yang Sulit

Ciro Ferrara mempersiapkan diri untuk memimpin Juventus untuk pertama kalinya di Liga Champions. Sang pelatih, yang sudah memperkuat posisinya setelah meraih 5 kemenangan berturut-turut di berbagai pertandingan resmi bersama Juventus, akan bertemu dengan mantan rekan setimnya, Laurent Blanc yang sedang menukangi Bordeaux: "Saya punya kenangan yang manis bersama dirinya saat masih menjadi rekan setim- digaris bawahi oleh Ferrara. Inter 2-0 Parma

Samuel Eto'o scored a second-half stunner and his strike partner Diego Milito added a cheeky goal as Inter saw off a gritty Parma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Cameroonian striker's goal - straight out of the top drawer - came at just the right time, with frustration setting in after seventy goalless minutes.

Two minutes short of the ninety, Il Principe tucked home Balotelli's cross to make sure of the points.

Chivu and Stankovic returned from international duty with the flu, forcing José Mourinho to make two changes to the team that beat AC Milan 4-0 a fortnight ago. Santon slotted in at left-back while Vieira patrolled the right side of midfield with Zanetti filling the central role.

Eleven minutes into the match Inter had two quick chances to take the lead. Sneijder latched on to Eto'o's deflected cross and saw his snapshot parried by Mirante. Thiago Motta failed to find the target with his header from the resulting corner.

Parma's only meaningful chance of the opening forty-five fell to their captain Morrone, who wriggled into the box before sending a diagonal shot straight at Julio Cesar. Inter launched a fast counter-attack and Mirante kept out a fierce drive from Zanetti.

A goalless first half called for a change in formation and Mourinho threw on Balotelli in place of Thiago Motta. The nineteen-year-old Italian made an immediate impact as the Nerazzurri looked more dangerous coming forward.

Parma, though, were always a threat and Inter youth academy product Jonathan Biabiany made two teasing runs, pulling his shot wide after the second.

The breakthrough came in the 71st minute when Eto'o received from Balotelli and turned Lanzafame to create space to curl his brilliant shot beyond Mirante and into the top right corner.

Rene Krhin came on for Sneijder in the 78th minute and celebrated his competitive debut for Inter ten later when Milito controlled Balotelli's right-wing cross in the box and fired past Mirante with the outside of his right foot.
