Lazio have agreed on the transfer of defender Lorenzo De Silvestri to Fiorentina for a sum of about 6 million euros (8.5 million dollars), Italian media reported Tuesday. De Silvestri, 21, was in Florence Monday to undergo medical tests that showed he should recover by mid-September from a knee injury sustained on August 13.
He is to sign a four-year contract worth 600,000 euros per season.
The youth-team international was one of three players at odds with the Rome club over their contracts, the others being Macedonia striker Goran Pandev and Argentine midfielder Cristian Ledesma.
Despite their absence, Lazio have done well in their first outings, winning the Italian Supercup against champions Inter Milan, beating Elfsborg in the Europa League and edging Atalanta 1-0 at the weekend in the opening game of the Serie A.
